The Yellowstone Country Assistance Network agrees to:
- Pre-screen Community Partner referred Self Sufficiency applicants for CSBG services and provide their case managers notification of the federal poverty levels posted below:
- Provide written notice of denial to Community Partner referred Self Sufficiency who do not qualify for CSBG services because they are not eligible for services if the gross household income exceeds 125% of FPL.
- The notice of denial will include the reason(s) for denial and the process to file an appeal and provide for coordination to other anti-poverty programs in the community.
If you applied for our Self-Sufficiency Programs, YCAN provided you a written denial notice to appeal the decision with your case manager.
- The organization maintains this appeal & complaint policy as well as non-discrimination policy for CSBG grant funded projects that is posted on the website https://ycanhelp.org/policies/.
Linkages and Referrals
As part of our service to you, we also provide all Community Partner referred Self Sufficiency applicants, who are denied services based on eligibility or customers whose needs we could not meet by our services, with linkages and referrals to other community organizations.
Below we have provided you with a link to community resources, as well as a referral application to the Wyoming Rapid Response fund.
If you are reading this, it means that we might have failed to live up to you or your client’s expectations or denied your requests. We aspire to have everyone who seeks our services in Park and Hot Springs County love what we do. But there are times when personalities clash, our staff miss meeting our standards, or there are times when our customers contribute to our failure.
Regardless of why, ultimately, we desire to assist Park, and Hot Springs County residents become self-sufficient. It may be helpful if we describe the requirements our staff have to serve applicants.
To assist an applicant, we are required to obtain information about the household. Many of our funding sources need personal data to qualify you for their programs. Some are federal funding. We ask all of our intake questions because of those contractual requirements. We do need to know the name, age, and demographics of everyone living in the house regardless of if they are related or not. We need to verify proof of income for everyone 18 and older, even if it is zero. We need to verify the number of household members in the house. Applicants may choose to do this with other documentation instead of using the last four digits of the Social Security Number and entering 0000 on the application. We do need to verify residence is in the county. We have contracted funds to provide services in specific counties coming. We need to ensure that the services we provide are allowable under our contracts with our funders, and the bill/services must be in the applicant’s name. This is because if a bill is in someone else’s name they may not be income eligible to obtain the service. These are not meant to be a barrier but give us better information to walk beside the case manager and applicant in this new journey toward self-sufficiency.
